NIA President Publishes a Book titled: “Center of the 4th Wave: Smartizen”

NIA President, Seang-Tae Kim published a book in the first quarter of 2013 titled: The Center of the 4th Wave: Smartizen.”



The book outlines and goes over the first few revolutions that society has successfully gone through, including the Agricultural, Industrial and Information revolutions and how now Korean society is standing at the center of a smart revolution.



The book details creative citizens that use smart technologies becoming smart citizens or “Smartizens,” offering the 4th wave being a “Smart Society” that helps realize the potential of ICT and how this should be nurtured in Korea in order to capture it as a Global brand. With the Smart Revolution, many changes will occur with many changes actually being hard to predict.



In the book, author and NIA President Seang-Tae Kim examines new horizons of the smart society and cites smart work, big data, and smart phones, smart policy-making as part of this. He also introduces information regarding personal information protection system and 'Smart Angels movement for the IT-based contribution and sharing. The 23th Winter Olympic Games will be held in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province in 2018 and he advocates a 'smart' Olympic Games to be hosted in Korea. Just like the leap and opportunities during the 1988 Seoul Olympics and 2002 World Cup, "Smart Pyeongchang Winter Olympics will act as the core smart agenda and catalyst for the next government strategic drive forward.



NIA President and author, Seang-Tae Kim has stated that the proceeds from book sales will be donated to worthwhile causes.
