□ The 2nd Joint Steering Committee Meeting for the Brazil-Korea IT Cooperation Center is held in March 18th, [Sao Paulo / Brazilia] -TBA- Brazil. The Brazil-Korea IT Cooperation Center has first opened in March 15, 2017 promising for the operation of several joint cooperation projects in the areas of IoT, 5G, and Smart City as stipulated in the ICT MoU mutually signed by the Ministry of Science and ICT of Republic of Korea and Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communication of Federative Republic of Brazil. The operation period of the IT Cooperation center is 3 years, planned to be terminated in the end of 2019.
□ The 2nd Joint Steering Committee Meeting was specifically held to select and initiate the joint cooperation project for the 2nd year of center operation. The topic of the project has been selected to the demonstration of IoT devices on LTE and 5G network test environment. Smart Home IoT and Smart Farm Monitoring System using drones over the 5G network will be the major objectives for demonstration as KT of Korea will be leading the project.
□ With the presence of the Joint Steering Committee members including the representatives from the ministry and foreign affairs of both countries, the vice-president of NIA, Dr. Kang-tak OH, has participated in the meeting to confirm the selection of the joint cooperation project for the 2nd year and has strongly encouraged participants wishing for the fruitful result of the joint cooperation project of Brazil-Korea IT Cooperation Center.
