The Government of the Republic of Korea, in cooperation with the Office of the UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Technology, cordially invites you to the Regional Consultation for the Asia-Pacific on the United Nations Global Digital Compact: Envisioning Global Digital and Data Cooperation, which is scheduled to take place in Studio 159, Coex, Seoul, Republic of Korea on October 16-17, 2023.
Featuring the participation of the UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Technology, the meeting aims to contribute to discussions among governments and other relevant stakeholders of the Asia-Pacific region on the future Global Digital Compact to be agreed upon at the Summit of the Future in September 2024.
The consultation will allow stakeholders, including governments, the private sector, civil society, and academia of the Asia-Pacific region, to exchange views on the principles and priorities of global digital cooperation to be reflected in the Global Digital Compact and evaluate the discussions carried out to date on the Global Digital Compact.
Simultaneously, to further contribute to advancing an open, free, secure, and human-centered digital future, the consultation will focus on themes including the Sustainable Development Goals, human rights online, digital public goods, and new and emerging technologies.
