National Computerization Agency has published 17th edition of the ubiquitous society research series 'Medical, healthcare business trend of ubiquitous society' on July 3.


The reports stresses that the traditional healthcare is undergoing a paradigm shift to 'ubiquitous healthcare'. This shift attributes to the necessity of continuous accumulation and regular updates of individual medical information by an increase of chronic diseases and the acceleration of aging society.


According to the report, advanced nations are focusing on the IT-based medical service mainly depending on their industrial strength. healthcare service is expected to continue to grow due to the technology development.


NCA also stressed the adoption of a user-convenient service and development of sevice model appropriate for the early stage of u-healthcare market.


The report estimated the u-healthcare market with good prospects. The sales volume of the domestic u-healthcare service market are forecasted to be over one mrillion USD with the expected users of 7 million by 2010.


In the early stage of the market, it is required to fully analyze service effectiveness, growth potential, and attitude of customers, said a researcher of the agency.
