NCA advances BcN quality measuring technology
The National Computerization Agency has decided to transfer technology used for measuring quality of broadband convergence networks (BcNs) to small and medium companies.
NCA has developed BcN quality measuring tool used for voice and video services over BcNs for the first time, and now plans to transfer the technology to small and medium companies in order to improve the quality of the commercial service. NCA also plans to host an explanation session for telecommunications carriers about this opportunity.
BcN quality measuring tool has been requested by the telco carriers to be standardized before the launch of BcN commercial service to be installed as default agent on handsets. For the standardization of BcN quality measuring tool, the technology has been decided to be transferred to private sector.
The quality measuring agent which NCA has developed can be installed into various handsets such as IP phones, Wi-Bro phones, PDAs and laptops as well as video phones. With the agent, users can monitor the quality of voice, video conference and VOD services in real time. The NCA also plans to open sources for different operating systems including Linux and Windows, which will be very helpful for handset companies.
The quality measuring agent of NCA will monitor 070 Internet telephony, instant messenger and other BcN services and consequently improve the service quality of telecommunications carriers. It is also expected to increase the service reliability for users.
