The Universal & Ubiquitous Content Identifier(UCI) is a content management system which utilizes unique identification codes. Under this system, all digital contents will be issued unique codes allowing for more efficient distribution and management. It is a national standard system which will unify incumbent contents identification system such as DOI and ISBN.
NCA who is in charge of the UCI(Universal & Ubiquitous Content Identifier) deployment project, has announced a tender and will receive proposals by April 19. NCA is taking full charge of the 'national digital contents identification system project' of the Ministry of Information and communication.

The UCI deployment project aims to expand agencies for contents registration and also create a new profit by UCI application business model. NCA will select about five proposals for this project which is supposed to get a budget of 600 thousand USD. The tender closing lasts until April 24.

Though having focused on the expanding registration agencies last year, we will make equal efforts to support application business models along with it, said SangWook Kang, researcher from the NCA.
