NCA to become official certification agency in public sector
The Ministry of Information and Communication(MIC) announced on March 12 that
it has designated the National Computerization Agency(NCA) as an official
certification agency in the public sector.
Accordingly, the ministry will grant the responsibilities and authorities on
implementation of electronic signature certification under the related law. So
far Korea Infomation Certificate Authority(KICA), Korea Securities
Computer(KOSCOM) and Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings
Institute(KFTC) have carried out the certification service.
The NCA plans to switch the so far unofficial service for electronic
procurement and bidding to an official system. As a part of effort, it will
issue e-business electronic signature certifications to the government and
other public organizations
