Chang-Kon Kim steps in as the new President of NCA
The board of directors of the National Computerization Agency has appointed
Chang-Kon Kim as its new head in a meeting held this Tuesday. The newly
appointed president will be the 10th president of the NCA.
Kim holds a doctorate degree in electrical engineering from the University of
Hanyang. He has previously served as the vice-minister of the Ministry of
Information and Communication.
Throughout his successful career Kim has promoted the spread and adopting of
information and communications in Korea. Kim began his career in the Ministry
of Post and Telecommunications, the predecessor to the Ministry of Information
and Communication in 1968. And for over 30 years, he has stood in the forefront
of Korea's digital frontier as an information and communications expert
providing critical leadership in many ICT areas. Kim played a central role in
the creation of Korea's CDMA Legend and has worked hard to ensure Korea's
leading stance as one of the most advanced IT nation in the world. In 2004, as
the vice-minister of the Ministry of Information and Communication, he laid the
foundation for IT839 Strategy and worked to strengthen Korea's competitiveness
by promoting international cooperaton in IT areas.
