Delegates from the Brunei Ministry of Communications visited the National Information Society Agency on Tuesday. Minister Pehin Abu Bakar, who headed the delegation is in Korea to attend the 2007 IT Ministerial Conference.
Chang-Kon Kim, the president of the NIA met with Minister Pehin Abu Bakar to talk about IT cooperation between Korea and Brunei.
The meeting began with a brief introduction of the NIA by KyungYeon Kim. Following Ms. Kim's presentation the director of the Global Consulting Team, Jeongwon Yoon, gave an overview of Korea's e-Government and Broadband infrastructure.
The Brunei Minister showed a keen interest in the e-Government implementation of Korea, particularly on the information integration and interoperability. He also praised the high level of expertise of the NIA and its staff evident in the implementation of e-Government projects. He expressed his hopes that Brunei could use this opportunity to benchmark agencies such as the NIA to help in building an efficient e-Government for the people of Brunei.
President Kim replied by expressing his hopes that bilateral cooperations between the two countries in the field of IT could be strengthened by sharing of Korea's know-how and expertise in e-Government implementation.
