Visitors from South East Asia and Europe visit NIA
A 10 person delegation made up of visitors from South East Asia and Europe visited NIA on Wednesday, February 20. Their overall purpose for visiting Korea was to not only learn about Korea's ICT industry but also its e-Government infrastructure as well. Once they arrived at NIA, they were given a warm welcome by Global Consulting Team Manager, Dr. Jeong-won Yoon and then shown some video segments concerning BcN (Broadband Convergence Network) and USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network) as part of u-Korea. Part of their visit was also getting a brief tour of NIA's RFID Showroom where visitors enthusiastically learned and asked a number of questions about specific Korea RFID projects and applications. The final stop of their visit at NIA was a brief question and answer period in the Government PKI [Public Key Information] Certification Center where they were surprised to learn just how tight and regulated security is in that center. They found this very interesting and were disappointed that no pictures were allowed to be taken in the Government PKI Certification Center. Nevertheless, they all found the session at NIA very informative and interesting. They appreciated the opportunity to learn about specific projects taking place in Korea and hoped that they could bring back to their respective countries some of what they learned and experienced.
