NIA Issues ‘2007 Application Service Provider/Software as a Service White Paper’
NIA issued the ‘2007 Application Service Provider/Software as a Service (ASP/SaaS) White Paper’. This White Paper provides information on the emergence and evolution of ASP/SaaS in Korea, strategies of national and international ASP/SaaS market and comparative analysis of business models. Furthermore, the White Paper contains technological issues such as emerging problems of ASP/SaaS platform, its relationship to Web 2.0, fixed-mobile convergence ASP/SaaS model, Application Program Interface (API) and security technology.
The White Paper pinpoints some of the issues that need to be resolved to provide competitive ASP/Saas. Some of the issues include; legal status of ASP/SaaS businesses and information security of service users. In addition, it emphasizes that the government should establish a long term development plan to support technology development, human resource development and standardization.
