Finland’s SITRA Delegation Visits NIA for High Level Discussions








 
The President of Finland’s SITRA Innovation fund - Mr. Mikko Kosonen and other representatives of SITRA, a 7-member led delegation visited NIA on October 7, 2009.

As quoted in SITRA’s website; “SITRA, the Finnish Innovation Fund is an independent public fund which under the supervision of the Finnish Parliament promotes the welfare of Finnish society. SITRA’s responsibilities have been stipulated in law. Since its establishment, SITRA’s duty has been to promote stable and balanced development in Finland, the qualitative and quantitative growth of its economy and its international competitiveness and co-operation.” Mr. Mikko Kosonen’s previous experience was in the private sector working for Nokia, as an advisor to management specializing in Strategy and Business Infrastructure.


Meeting with NIA’s President Seang-Tae Kim and other upper management of NIA, Mr. Kosonen and the SITRA delegation had some good discussions pertaining to a variety of different matters. Some of the discussions broached on e-government website management, cloud computing, open source and open standards related to Green ICT strategy, information security and future cooperation between Korea and Finland in the area of ICT.


This meeting built on the successful visit last year by the Minister of Communication of Finland - Ms. Suvi Linden and Representatives of the Ubiquitous Information Society Advisory Board of Finland.
