President Kim attended the ITU Broadband Committee conference in Geneva on July 11th.
On the day of meeting, he participated in the workshop 'Project and Partnership' where he suggested a construction of global knowledge belt through developing nations' broadband and expansion of e-village. In addition, he also made suggestions on e-world capacity building.
Additionally, Dr.Kim had bilateral meetings with ITU Broadband Committee members from various countries. He also met the president of Rwanda, Mr.Paul Kagame, to discuss the ICT deployment in Rwanda and the issues for sharing Korean broadband business model. On July 10th, President Kim met Stephen Conroy, the minister of Digital Broadband Communications Department of Australia, to share ideas about future plans on smartwork related policies.
President Kim has been an important figure in advancing Korea's informatization, and has contributed greatly to the report of committee by providing Korea's broadband experiences and best practices. He emphasized that the importance of global cooperations in improving Korea's ICT brand name.
