On September 9th, 11AM, NIA and KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information) signed an agreement with artificial joints manufacturing companies, Corentec and UNI, to share technology for 'Korean knee joints data imaging' at the Korea Press Center in Seoul.
Under the agreement, artificial joints manufacturing companies would get access to Korean-optimized knee joints image data, patents analysis data from domestic and overseas, and software with joints image and statistical data. These data would lead to speed up of the process of producing artificial knee customized for the Korean people. NIA also expects to alleviate trade deficit of 1.2 billion dollars through localizing the technology, as well as entering emerging markets such as Chinese and Indian regions in the near future prior to other competitors.
