On December 14, 2010, a 16-member delegation from Peru visited NIA in order to learn more about Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s informatization policies and e-government strategy and vision. Peru is currently looking for ways to improve its own national e-government system as well as national policies so this was a good chance to learn more about
Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s own e-government services.
This Peruvian Government delegation was made up of officials from the Peru e-Government National Office and other ICT officials from various ministries in Peru, including; Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Justice, Public Ministry,
Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs among others. The delegation was here in Korea for a total of 3 weeks that included training, education and visits to various IT organizations and companies.
In the past, NIA has played an central role in helping the Korean government in upgrading and implementing Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s e-government as well as broadband infrastructure development so the Peruvian officials were able to glean some very meaningful information and hold discussions about an array of different IT topics. Some of their interests concerned topics such as convergence, legal frameworks and national policies set forth in Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s case in the past. NIA talked about it || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s role in providing consulting to developing countries and setting forth guidelines to be used as a blueprint and model in setting up future e-government policies in Peru.
The delegation from Peru thanked their NIA hosts at the end of the meeting and promised to review the information gathered on their visit Korea and use it to the best of their ability back in Peru.
