A 7-person Azerbaijanis delegation from the Ministry of Economic Development (MED) visited NIA on January 25th, 2011. The delegation was particularly interested in learning more about e-government services and applications in Korea as the MED of Republic of Azerbaijan is very interested in computerizing their work process within the Dept of Foreign Investment and Aid Coordination. Also of interest were programs that Korea has undertaken to develop its e-government as well as its broadband network infrastructure.
The Azerbaijanis delegation was led by the deputy minister of the MED as well as other members from the Foreign Trade department, Information Resources and Technologies as well as Public Investments.
NIA has played a very important role in helping the Korean government in upgrading and implementing Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s e-government as well as broadband infrastructure development so after some introduction of NIA and its work, more discussions took place once Korean e-Government was explained to the delegation. Some very meaningful
discussions took place between NIA staff and the MED delegation members. Various Korean best practices were discussed so as to see how it could relate to the current status in Azerbaijan. The details of Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s e-government would serve as a good reference for MED to consider how operations of the ministry and other government bodies can benefit on a greater scale.
At the end of the 2 hour meeting, both NIA staff and the Azerbaijanis delegation thanked each other and promised to remain in close contact and further help foster cooperation between the two countries in the area of e-government and ICT.
