On January 25th & 26th, 2011, at the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) headquarters in Hanoi, Vietnam the 2nd Working Level Meeting took place in order to discuss the establishment of the Vietnam-Korea IT Cooperation Center.
At the last meeting held on December 2, 2010, both Vietnamese and Korean Sides agreed to establish the Vietnam-Korea IT Cooperation Center (ITCC) in Hanoi, Vietnam, in order to move forward the two countries || chr(39) || || chr(39) || strategic alliance in the area of Informatization, including e-Government.
From the Vietnam side, Dr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Deputy Minister (MIC), Ms. Nguyen Thi Dao, Deputy Director General, International Cooperation Department, (MIC) and Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Deputy Director General, Department of Information Technology (MIC) led the meeting and from Korea, Ms. Soyeon Jun, Deputy Director, Ministry of Public Administration and Security, Mr. Jeongwon Yoon, Director, Global Cooperation Team, NIA and Ms. Hyunjin Byun, Senior Manager, Global Cooperation Team, NIA took part in the meeting

The Center is to serve as a "window for cooperation" between Vietnam and Korea in the field of IT and will coordinate bilateral cooperation activities including: the provision of technical support and consultation necessary for
IT development of Vietnam, developing and carrying out joint projects in the fields of IT, and sharing IT technology and experiences with one another.
More detailed discussions were carried out regarding coordination, frameworks, budgeting and seconded personnel as well. The ITCC commencement date has yet to be finalized but the timeframe is tentatively set for April 2011.
