NIA Launches Smart Angels Volunteer Movement

NIA is now at the forefront of a new Volunteer Movement called Smart Angles Korea. NIA has now joined with some other organizations and private sector companies to provide and promote a comprehensive custom-made volunteer service facilitated through a new web service. Reps from 58 companies and non-governmental organizations

gathered at the head office of the National Information Society Agency (NIA) in late April.



At the opening session for the Smart Angels Korea Movement, NIA President, Seang-Tae Kim gratefully accepted the appointment as a co-chairman of the committee that will drive the campaign, titled Smart Angels Korea Movement.



A specific website will be launched later this year where welfare facilities can search for organizations and/or people that may be eligible to give their time and service as well as vice versa where those who want to volunteer can do so and search for the right welfare facility.



In his opening speech as co-chairman, NIA President Kim stated, We need to promote volunteer and donation work in a more || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || smart || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || manner in this information technology based society. This || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || Smart Angels Korea Movement || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || will open a new chapter for volunteering. He went on to add, The three core values of smart society are openness, sharing and cooperation. The website to be built upon them and will eventually change the entire landscape of volunteer service in the country. He concluded his speech by saying, Helping others with your physical strength is a conventional form of volunteer service. You can also help people with your knowledge, ability and experiences. The website will help settle the new paradigm of volunteer service in the country.



Some of the other organizations and participants involved in the Smart Angels movement include; Microsoft, Samsung SDS, KT, SK C&C, LG CNS and Konkuk University.
