The Fourth 2011 KoIL Program: Global e-Government Leadership Program Hosted by NIA in Seoul

Once again the National Information Society Agency (NIA) hosted another Global e-Government Leadership Program from June 20 - June 24, 2011) as part of the Korea IT Learning Program (KoIL).



At this particular Global e-Government Leadership Program, 14 participants that work for the public sector, from 11 different countries took part. The countries represented included; Albania, Armenia, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Kyrgyzstan,

Mongolia, Nepal, Rwanda, Senegal, Serbia and Vietnam. The participants that took part in this program over the course of the 5 days actively participated in different lectures and discussions.



Participants took part in a welcoming reception at the Plaza Hotel where Executive Director of the Global Cooperation Division of NIA, Jong Soo Jeon welcomed the guests. After the Welcoming Reception they then took part in a variety of lectures that covered a wide range of topics over the course of the program. These lectures were in such topics as; Best Practices of Korea e-Government, e-Government Legal and Regulatory Frameworks, Information Network Village, Public-Private-Partnership e-Government Cooperation, and E-Government Development Strategy.



Participants first took part in an orientation and then some cultural activities on June 19th as well as having the opportunity to make a couple on-site visits that included visits to, Civil Service Center of Gangnam, Information Network Village (INVIL), National Computing and Information Agency in Daejeon and the Seoul Transport Operations and Information Service Office.



As with previous courses, the participants enthusiastically got involved in the activities, lectures and visits and had a chance to learn from each other throughout the program which in turn helped to promote international cooperation

On the last day of this e-Government Leadership Program, the participants attended a graduation ceremony and luncheon where closing remarks and a picture with Mr. Imchul Rhu, Director at the Ministry of Public Administration and Security were made as all members were thanked for their participation and the program that would undoubtedly serve (like KoIL programs before) as a foundation for IT cooperation between their countries and Korea in the future.
