NIA President Visits Gangwon Province for Cooperation with Pyeongchang Olympic Winter Olympics

NIA President, Seang-Tae Kim visited Gangwon Provincial Office on July 13 in order to seek mutual cooperation with the province as well as the Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games committee that was awarded the Winter Games

earlier this past summer.



At the meeting with the Bid Committee, representatives from academia, research institutes, Korea National Tourism Information organization met with IT specialists to discuss ways that could lead to a successful hosting of the Winter Olympic Games in 2018.


NIA President Kim spoke at the meeting and stressed that through devoted efforts and participation by local residents would result in Gangwon province developed more and a successful hosting of the Olympic Games.


 


In addition, Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games Evaluation Committee Chief, Lee Byong-Nam and GangwonIlbo CEO, Lee, Hee-Jo both mentioned that close cooperation with NIA and the support it would provide would help with hosting a a successful Games. It was mentioned that NIA has vast and meaningful experience with big
events from the past including, 2002 FIFA World Cup as well as next year || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s International EXPO to be held in Yeosu so this knowledge and experience will be invaluable in the lead up and support for the Olympic Games.


 


In conclusion, NIA President Kim stated, The Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang provides an opportunity for a quantum jump in Korean society. With cutting-edge technology that emphasizes smart and efficient IT systems, society will be positively impacted and a successful Olympic Games will be hosted by Korea and seen around the world.
