NIA Signs MOU with Advanced Development for Africa (ADA)

On October 23, 2011 in Geneva, Switzerland, NIA President, Seang-Tae Kim on behalf of NIA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Advanced Development for Africa (ADA) in the area of Assitive Technology Device Provision for ALIYA (Assistive Learning Innovation for Youth in Africa) Project.



The MOU || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s objective was aimed at establishing cooperative relations between ADA and NIA in the field of Green PCs and assistive technology device provision for the African digital underprivileged.



NIA President Seang-Tae Kim had very good discussions during the MOU signing meeting with his counterpart from ADA, CoumbaToure - President of ADA. One of the first actions in accordance with the MOU was NIA donating 50 Green (environmentally-friendly) personal computers and assistive devices to ADA to be distributed to African youth as part of the ALIYA Project. Other discussions

revolved around IT education for African youths that NIA could become involved in for ADA.



Dr.HamadounToure, ITU Secretary-General also stopped by for photographs and discussions with NIA President Kim on the eve of the Broadband Commission || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s Leadership Summit and hoped that the Green PCs could be distributed to African youths in countries such as Burundi and others.
