On October, 25, 2011 while in Geneva attending the Broadband Commission || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s Leadership Summit and taking part in ITU Telecom World 2011, NIA president, Seang-Tae Kim was invited to give a lecture at the University of Geneva || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s Sector of Advanced Business Studies (HEC). The lecture was also supported by the Institute Services Science (ISS) and took place from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.



Dr. Kim || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s Lecture was titled, "Vision and Plans for Coming of Smart Society," where he explained about a paradigm shift in society taking place at this time as we are living in a speedy era in terms of technology development and social environment. The future society is expected to be a smart society which is driven by explosive smart phone usage. Dr. Kim || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s presentation went into detail on the definition and preparation of the smart era and illustrated this through a number of examples such as smart work, smart government and smart life.


After the lecture, Dr. Kim had a long and thorough discussion with students, researchers and professors regarding the lecture contents and was interviewed by a regional radio station, RSR.ch that went into more detail on Dr. Kim || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s lecture. One of the professors there was Professor Morin of the University of Geneva and he stated that he considers the Smart Society as the starting point of innovative concepts and research and he wished for a continuous future relationship with NIA.
