Delegation from the Belarusian Academy of Public Administration Visits NIA

On October 27, 2011, a 3-member delegation from the Belarus Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus visited NIA in order to learn more about Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s e-Government and further strengthen ties in the ICY industry between Korea and Belarus.



The Belarusian delegation was led by MarazevichAnatolNikalaevich, President of Academy of Public Administration and also included, PrannikTatsina, Director of Global Cooperation Center and Maxim Bord, Secretary of President. The delegation was accompanied by Korea counterparts from the Korea Institute of Public Administration, MOPAS, and the Education Center for Government Officers of Korea. For NIA, NIA Vice President, Jung-Hyup Kang met with the delegation along with members from NIA || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s Global Cooperation Department and discussed previous cooperation that NIA was involved in last year in Minsk, Belarus as well as discussing ways that part of Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s e-government model could be used as a basis for the development of further e-government in Belarus.



The Academy of Public Administrationunder the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus was established back in 1995 and since that time, has offered training and education certification to public officers. In all, officials, practitioners and national regional industrial and economic professionals can get certification and even re-qualified if deemed necessary. Both bachelors and masters post-secondary degrees can be earned as well.



The delegation showed interest in Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s e-government and were especially interested in electronic document exchange system. In addition, other areas discussed included, cooperation between the two countries, especially with regards to ICT projects initiated by multi-lateral banks and international

organizations.



To conclude the meeting, all participants stated that it was a good starting point between Korea and Belarus and ICT cooperation, specifically in the area of e-government and promised to keep up relations in the future.
