Information Access Center Open at Ukraine in March

On March 2nd the Ministry of public administration and Security(MOPAS) and the National Information Society Agency(NIA) will be held an inauguration ceremony for the opening of new Ukraine-Korea Information Access Center(IAC) in Kiev the capital of Ukraine.
The new Ukraine-Korea IAC is ahead of its opening in Open International University of Human Development. The new Information Access Center in Ukraine provides access to Internet as well as includes an Internet lounge for local residents to use for ICT education purposes and a seminar room to host both domestic and international events. Hardware, computer and video-conferencing equipment are also provided.
The opening ceremony will be attended by Kwang-soo JANG, head of Informatization Strategy Office at MOPAS, Petro M. Talanchuk, chancellor of Open International University of Human Development and High-level Officials at the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine with approximately 100 people in attendance.
Mr. JANG and High-level Officials of Ukraine government are expected to have a meeting concerning further IT cooperative project between Korea and Ukraine such as Korean Internet Volunteers (KIV) and Korea Information Learning (KoIL) programs in order to share experiences regarding informatization building experiences of Korea.
To conclude, the MOPAS and NIA plans to establish Information Access Centers(IACs) respectively at Ghana, Panama, Vietnam, Colombia, Moldova and Myanmar in total 34 IACs will be operating, which are which will go a long way in helping to bridge the digital divide in Ukraine and connect Ukrainian with different information communication technologies.
