On January 17, 2012, a delegation from Oman || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s Information Technology Authority (ITA) visited NIA in order to learn some more about Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s advanced experience in the development of the IT society.
During the meeting with NIA staff, the Omani delegation was able to learn more about Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s informatization policies and e-government strategy and vision. Also of interest were programs that Korea has undertaken to develop its e-government as well as its broadband network infrastructure.
The 4-member Omani delegation was made up of public officers from the Oman Information Technology Authority with delegates from Information Society Department, Quality Assurance Department, IT Project Management Department and Public Relations Department. As such, they took a very keen interest in Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s IT systems.
Because NIA has played an integral role in helping the Korean government in upgrading and implementing Korea || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s e-government as well as broadband infrastructure development some very meaningful discussions took place between NIA staff and the Omani delegation members. After a brief introduction of NIA, different Korean e-government best practices were explained in a Korea e-Government presentation. The Omani delegation had some questions regarding the role of NIA and its relations to the various Ministries as they wanted to benchmark it so it could be related to e-government in Oman and hopefully e-government efforts will be stimulatedfor Oman || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || || chr(39) || s own e-government policies and services.
